This Giving Tuesday, I want to say thank you. Over the course of a tragic and challenging year, we have stepped into the void to face this crisis together. Due to your generous support, The Abraham Initiatives expanded its vital work in Israel’s mixed cities without hesitation on October 7.
Within hours of the horrific attacks, we convened a meeting of over 300 activists and peer organizations to address the unfolding crisis. We drew heavily from the violence prevention model we developed, which connects grassroots activists with municipal leaders and life-saving services, following the intercommunal violence of May 2021.
In this meeting, a partnership developed with Givat Haviva and the Tzedek Centers to immediately implement our model in 12 mixed cities and regions throughout the country. You can read an outline of our emergency response in each mixed city here.
To date, there have been no major incidents of intercommunal violence. This would not have been possible without your support.
I hope you will consider making a gift today to help this work continue. Now, in the midst of so much uncertainty, building and maintaining Jewish-Arab relations is more important than ever. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss.
