Israel-Palestine Peace Building Goes International
London, 12th November 2024 – The International Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Friends Associations of Neve Shalom-Wahat al-Salam (NSWaS) recently concluded a two-day conference in London with attendees from across Europe, the USA, and representatives from the Village in Israel. This landmark event highlighted international cooperation, new fundraising projects, and peacebuilding efforts in Israel between Israelis and Palestinians.
Neve Shalom-Wahat al-Salam (Arabic and Hebrew for Oasis of Peace, NSWaS), is a village of Palestinian and Jewish citizens of Israel who choose to share their lives with one another. ‘The Village’, as it is known, is dedicated to promoting justice, peace and equality in the country and the region.
“As soon as it became clear that we would be unable to gather together in the Village, we knew that we had to step up. Bringing Palestinian, Israeli, European, American and British people together in London to work together towards a peaceful and just future was our distinct honour. The Village is a constant source of inspiration for us, and to hear directly from them was eye opening and deeply moving.”
