TalkMatters is vital for the future of Israel and Palestine but also for Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations here in the UK where there is so much ignorance and confusion surrounding the realities of Israeli Jewish and Palestinian life. At this time of potential annexation of the West Bank, it is more important than ever that we have the opportunity to understand each other.
With this in mind, we invite you to meet four women – Jewish, Christian and Muslim – living within the Green Line and in the West Bank. Hear their stories: who they are, what they do and how they work together in a deeply polarised society.
Introducing Women Wage Peace
Women Wage Peace is a grassroots movement, founded in November 2014 in the aftermath of the Gaza War. Their mission is to reach an honourable and bilaterally acceptable political agreement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and increase the active participation of women in all aspects of negotiation, as mandated by UN Security Council resolution 1325. Today over 50,000 Israelis, Jewish and Arab, religious and secular, from across the political spectrum and all walks of Israeli society, have united to reclaim hope in a viable future for our region.
